Oddly enough, the original house had a wall with a large fireplace blocking the incredible view. The clients decided to open up the whole wall and replace it with sliding glass doors that retract all the way to completely open up the family room area to the outdoor kitchen and pool area. It made such a huge difference. A new fireplace was completely rebuilt on the adjacent wall, which adds a cozy element when cooking family meals together.  We wanted to create a kitchen design that complements the ranch style of architecture typical in this Rolling Hills neighborhood, while bringing in both some nautical and beachy elements. The white upper cabinets and dark blue lower cabinets, the island clad in rustic reclaimed barn lumber, the brass pendant lights, and the bamboo bar stools all contributed to creating the perfect atmosphere for this young family.
